Probably best to not leave it plugged in. Idk for sure but if we compare them to usb drives they have a finite amount of read/writes and formats.

I still leave mine plugged in sometimes. I changed the Screensaver to the empty black one so when when it’s plugged in it’s screen is off unless something needs to be signed
