      Also…

      Danke!

      > people would NOT know that this particular wallet have 10 BTC? because of the different addresses?

Correct, until you spend some of those inputs together.

It is a form of forward secrecy. Your inputs are unrelated until you spend some of them together. Even spending, say, 4 BTC, does not reveal that there are 6 more in the same wallet. If you later receive 10 more BTC, nobody will know these are part of the same wallet — again, until you spend them together.

If you need to make sure that your addresses are _never_ linked, use addresses from separate accounts. These can’t be spent together.

By looking at the public Blockchain, we will not be able to tell that those 3 addresses are connected, so we won’t know that they come from the same HD wallet.

      [technical explanation](https://learnmeabitcoin.com/technical/hd-wallets)

Are the keys in a HD wallet connected?

No, you wouldn’t know that any two public keys (or addresses) in the tree are part of the same wallet (i.e. derived from the same master extended key).

Even though child keys are derived from the master extended key in a specific manner, the actual public keys themselves do not share any resemblance to each other. It’s as though they were generated completely independently.

Advanced analytics would show that all outbound transactions are from the same address. It can be deduced that all 5 receiving addresses belong to you, but that is a deduction.

Coinbase will give you a single address, so if an analyst looks for a single transaction (let’s say the last one) and clicks on the origin address, it would see all 5 outbound transactions. You could argue that all 5 belonged to different people, but that’s all you can argue.

If you want a fully anonymous set of transactions, use Bisq.

Can’t you just send out small amounts from your coin base account at different times to your different Trezor wallet addresses (generated for each different transaction?). Wouldn’t this make it impossible to know it was all flowing to one person?
