Ich versuche also, Geld von meinem Ledger in meine Metamask-Wallet über Ledger Live zu senden, und es sagt mir, dass ich mich für mein Ledger Nano X anmelden soll. Ich mache mir Sorgen, dass, wenn ich mich anmelde, es eine brandneue Wallet erstellen wird und ich alles auf meinem aktuellen Ledger Live verlieren werde. Hier ist, was ich bekomme, wenn ich versuche, ETH von meinem Ledger Live zu senden. Ich fühle mich wie ich Gerät einrichten es schafft eine neue Ledger mit nichts in ihm.

The magic of the wallet. Bip-32 standard.
Lets say you live in a country full of war-lords, who steal from you and you cant walk down the street without getting robbed.

You need to pay a bill at a local store but dont want to bring cash or credit or even your Ledger, what do you do? Use your “Brain wallet” memorize your seed phrase!

You walk to the place and get frisked by the war-lords and you have nothing on you. You walk up to the counter and they hand you a Ledger. You enter the wrong pin 3 times and the device asks you to verify your words. You enter your 24 words seed phrase and magically, your wallet is now in the Ledger! You proceed to pay your bill. After, you enter the wrong pin 3 times and hand it back to the cashier who enters the 24 word seed phrase of the till, wiping yours from the device, and give you a receipt.

If you have your 24 words written down, yes. The crypto isnt on the Ledger. The Ledger generated a 24 word phrase wallet to store the “private keys” your crypto has. Crypto has private keys and public keys, think of it as two sides of a coin, the private side faces you and the public side faces away from you. People can track the public side on the blockchain and only you can move it because you control the private side.

This message tells you that you need to set-up your ledger, i.e. enter an old seed/recovery phrase that you already have (if you have one that was used in the past, and that was never leaked / compromised), or generate a new one.
