When was the last time you personally saw the seed phrase with your own eyes?

Has the Bitcoin moved more than once since the 12th?

How did you view your BTC? On Windows via Ledger Live? Are you sure it was the official Ledger Live app and not the fake Windows version that’s been going around recently? Did you enter your seed in the app?

      A) Would we be correct in assuming you never entered the phrase into any computer or digital divide other than the ledger USB? [Edit: I see this has already been addressed]

      B) Do you ever read it aloud as you are putting it into the ledger device? Baring in mind even fridges and washing machines can have microphones now.

      C) Have you tried resetting the device and using your mnemonic to restore the wallet on ledger? [This almost certainly won’t help if there is a valid outgoing transaction].

Edit D). Have you verified the Ledger Live version?

Sorry for your loss. I have very strong feelings about thieves which I cannot expand on here.

Curious that so many of these FUD posts come from user accounts with no history.

Are you sure you never made photos of the recovery phrase? Never saved into a password manager? Never emailed it? Never saved it in a file? Never entered it into anything else than the Ledger device? Not entered it into software or a website? Never entered it on a keyboard?

Sorry to hear that. Hope it wasn’t a big chunk.

Could anyone, any point in time, possibility ever come across your written note? Either recently or before?

Also did you use a paraphrase?

Imagine if you had passphrase set up.

Imagine this scenario your passphrase is digital never touching the physical world while your seed phrase stays in the material world with no trace.

      2 halves name a whole.

Even in that scenario someone wouldn’t be able to gain access to your wallet even if they stumbled upon one or the other since they would need both.

Was the seed pre-generated with the device on a piece of paper? You say you never entered it anywhere, did you even verify the code on the device or did you just use it straight out of the box?

Is it even possible to make transaction without actually confirming it on your Ledger by pressing two buttons simultaneously? Even with fake Ledge Live app I assume it’s not possible to bypass it, we need more info here, also did Ledge replied?

Where did you buy the ledger device?
This could be a firmware attack.
It is not uncommon for hackers to introduce a backdoor on legit software, and remain hidden for a while and then suddenly strike.

If you purchased the ledger device from ledger website,, you could engage with them, the device needs to be analysed by security specialists. Ledger should be able to help, if not I can point you to some security companies. Don’t send your device to any individuals except maybe the manufacturers.

Finally, there is a chance you could recover your tokens with a new device if you have the seeds, and they have not been Compromised.

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. Cryptocurrency security is paramount. If your seed was never shared and you’ve taken precautions, it’s perplexing. Start by contacting your wallet provider and follow up with Ledger support. Additionally, consider enabling two-factor authentication if you haven’t already. Regularly update your wallet software for security patches. It’s a tough situation, and seeking professional advice might be beneficial. Remember, enhancing overall security measures is key in the crypto world.
