You need something like trillions of years to brute force a 24 word list that adheres to BIP39. Not including 25th passphrase.

The number of combinations makes that not an issue at all.

Edit: for a 24 word seed phrase it is 2048^24 number of combinations. A ridiculously large number. More than stars in the known universe.

And after a trillion years you crack a wallet, and it has a total equivalent of $10usd in it. 😌

Im a programmer. I did create a bruteforce script that will try to bruteforce evm based blockchain. So far it works with ethereum, bsc, avax, ftm. That script has 1 master that produce seed and that created seeds can be spread to multiple of workers. Which means, I can spin up a lot of virtual machine/server/computer to join checking the created seeds if there are any balance inside it.

That master can produce 100 seeds in 1 seconds. And each worker can check 15 seeds in 1 seconds. It can ho higher, but every blockchain endpoint will rate limit me from checking another seeds, so 15 seeds/s is a safe number.

Let me tell you, it is useless. You can’t crack it. Unless probably you have thousands of worker. And that is just a probably. Not a solid answer.

You are underestimating the number of possible seeds… (That’s ok, humans suck at big numbers)

Software like you are asking about already exists in BTCRecover ([https://github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover/](https://github.com/3rdIteration/btcrecover/)) but if you have a play around with it you will find that practical limits in terms of recovering missing words from a seed phrase are 2-3 missing words… (Depending on your system, you will be able to check about 100,000 to 500,000 seeds per second, but even at that speed, recovering a completely unknown seed is impractical)

in a 12 word seed there’a 2^128 and in a 24 word seed 2^256 possible combinations that are valid (the last 4 respectively 8 bits are checksum) if someone could break 128 or 256 bit keys LITERALLY every method of encryption, signature etc. we currently commonly use would be broken.
