Als Test wollte ich sehen, ob eine Electrum-Seedphrase in Ledger importiert werden kann. Es scheint, dass dies nicht möglich ist. Ich habe meine 12-Wort-Seed-Phrase genau so eingegeben, wie ich sie aufgeschrieben hatte. Die Eingabe schlug fehl, und Ledger meldete „Recovery phrase is invalid, retry“.
Also öffnete ich Electrum, überprüfte die Eingabe, um sicherzugehen, dass sie korrekt war, und versuchte es erneut, was nicht funktionierte.
Ich bin neugierig. Warum sind die beiden nicht kompatibel?
Bei meinem Electrum gibt es eine Sache, die das Problem verursachen könnte, nämlich dass ich am Ende eine Seed-Erweiterung hinzugefügt habe (von der ich einfach annahm, dass sie dasselbe ist wie eine Passphrase).
Sagen Sie es mir. Was könnte das Problem sein? Ich dachte, 12-Wort-Seed-Phrasen seien universell und funktionierten auf mehreren Gerätetypen. Nein? Liegt es daran, dass ich eine Seed-Erweiterung auf Electrum verwendet habe?

Ledger wallet uses BIP39.
BIP39 seed phrases do not include a version number. This means that software should always know how to generate keys and addresses. BIP43 suggests that wallet software will try various existing derivation schemes within the BIP32 framework. This is extremely inefficient and rests on the assumption that future wallets will support all previously accepted derivation methods. If, in the future, a wallet developer decides not to implement a particular derivation method because it is deprecated, then the software will not be able to detect that the corresponding seed phrases are not supported, and it will return an empty wallet instead. This threatens users funds.
For these reasons, Electrum does not generate BIP39 seeds. Starting with version 2.0, Electrum uses the following Seed Version System, which addresses these issues.

Yes Electrum is the exception, does not use BIP39 like all the rest.
If you want an account / wallet that you can use from dozens of different clients, use BIP39. And note your shitcoin derivation paths, not secret but important.
If you want to use Electrum, generate a new Seed (wallet, account) and **transfer** assets to it, only use Electrum to manage that account / wallet.

There are about a half dozen multi-word mnemonic standards.
1. Electrum – It runs its own standard, but it CAN run BIP39 or SLIP39 as well. They choose their own proprietary standard by default, but it is perfectly simple to configure it to use BIP39 or SLIP39
2. BIP39 – This is likely what most think of regarding mnemonics
3. SLIP39 – Used by Trezor, Electrum, and Ian’s web-tool
3. Monero – Looks like BIP39, but it isn’t
4. Lightning – Can’t remember which one, but one of them has their own standardAs to Electrum, the variation from BIP39 is discussed in the documentation. If you want to learn more, thumb through the documentation and pay attention to Testnet. That is a cost-free way to test various features and broadcast to a „test“ blockchain.
