I think I can see what happened here. I’m going to write it out in case you are still wondering WTF happened and in case it is useful to anyone else.

You set up your Trezor and created a hidden wallet using the passphrase for the 25th word. You then selected the option to „remember“ on the Trezor Suite. This has the effect that the wallet is visible by default on Trezor Suite. It’s marked as a „hidden wallet“, just as you describe, but you don’t have to keep putting in your passphrase. Basically, if you trust your computer and that no one else is going to go sniffing around to see what you have, this can be a useful option.

This worked for you for years. But then one day, you accidentally clicked the EJECT button on the Wallet list or undid the REMEMBER setting. Obviously the wallet still exists but it is now invisible to the Trezor Suite interface. If you don’t trust your computer or other people have access to it, this means that they can only see the standard wallet. A common technique is to put a small amount of crypto in the standard wallet, so that anyone who happens to be looking sees it and presumes that that is all you have. A standard wallet with zero value pretty much makes it clear that you must have a hidden wallet connected on the same device. NOTE: no one can get to your crypto like this. You are protecting information, not value.

The next time you accessed the Trezor Suite, the hidden wallet did not appear and in order to see it, you needed to prove that you knew the passphrase. That’s when you panicked, as you had long since forgotten how you had set it up and presumably did not know that you’d told the Trezor Suite to stop displaying the wallet. Once you successfully entered the passphrase, it reappeared. If you now move the REMEMBER selector, it should work exactly as y ou recall.
