Gast::The seed phrase is not supposed to be memorable and you’re not supposed to remember it.
What you _should_ do is write it down or punch it into a cryptosteel, store it in a safe place, and completely forget its contents. That way you can’t lose your funds by misremembering words, and as an added benefit, nobody can beat it out of you if you don’t know it.

Gast::Well, you *could* lookup the list of words and create an easy to remember phrase of 24 words from that list. That will generate a valid wallet if you use it generate a seed pair.
**But it’s a very bad idea to do so.** Doing that greatly reduces the randomness of the seed and it makes it vulnerable to brute force attacks. It’s similar to using an easy to remember 6 digits pin of consecutive or repeating numbers.

Gast::Entering seed-phrase generated by coinbase software wallet completely negates the benefits of hardware wallet. The whole point of hardware wallet is to create an airgap between seedphrase and internet with seedphrase never ever being entered on to any potentially compromised device. If it came from a computer or phone in first place, there is no guarantee it’s not already compromised

Gast::You can go to [this site](https://iancoleman.io/bip39/) to practice rapidly generating a ton of seeds (*do not* actually use any seed you’ve generated here unless you’re doing it offline on a properly air-gapped and secure computer) and see if you ever have the experience of landing on an „easier to remember“ one to find out if this is even worth trying. You don’t want to steer your seed toward being more human-friendly by choosing words. Randomness is where a seed gets its power and human brains are really, really bad at randomness. You want them removed from the process. Whatever seed you use, it needs to have come from a computer.
If you still want to go through with it after that, I need to make it explicit that there’s *no such thing* as changing the seed for where your funds live. One seed inexorably points to one hierarchy of addresses, another seed inexorably points to another. If you want a different seed, you need to transfer coins. So if you had two Trezors you could go through the setup process over and over on the second one until you liked your seed, and then transfer your coins to it from the first one. With a single Trezor you have to do a bunch of wiping and recovering back and forth from seed to seed to do the transfer.

Gast::Memorizing a recovery/seed phrase is not a good idea for several reasons:
If something happens to you (eg you die), your next of kin would have no access to your cryptos.
If you get in a small accident, and get a brain concussion, you could lose memory, and if your Trezor gets lost, broken or malfunctions, you could lose access permanently to all your cryptos. This happened to several people who posted on reddit.
So think twice about using memory. Storing your seed phrase on paper or metal in much better idea. And store 2 copies at different locations to protect if from disasters like house fire.
