I think this misses the point that that pros and cons go both ways. Both Cardano and Solana wallets do much more than just showing your account balance. You can see and search for staking pools, manage your stakes (split etc), see your UXTO distribution (Cardano) and so on.
Most likely none of these will be implemented with Ledger Live supports and even if they do it, the Cardano/Solana wallets will rush ahead with features that will make you feel you are always in the past and missing out new features with Ledger Live.
This is true for many other blockchains not just these two. For example, Ledger Live supports Algorand, sure, but it wasn’t supporting natively the governance vote registration which the official Algorand wallet did. And so on.
I think the idea that Ledger Live could (or even should) keep up with a ton of different and nuanced functionality provided by the various blockchain wallets is an unrealistic expectation.
You are much better served by using the official wallets for the given blockchain backed by Ledger (not Ledger Live) because that gives you the best from both worlds.
