AVAX is on the Binance Smart Chain network, not on Ethereum.
Have you added the network to Metamask?
If not, visit this page [https://docs.binance.org/smart-chain/wallet/trezor.html](https://docs.binance.org/smart-chain/wallet/trezor.html) and follow it’s instructions to add the Binance Smart Chain to Metamask.
Once you have added the new network to Metamask you can add the AVAX token to your connected hardware wallet.

Basically you do not really need to add the contract since the Binance Smart Chain main wallet address resolves any received tokens compatible with it’s blockchain. But it’s better to be safe.
Just make sure that you use the exact same wallet that you used to sent your AVAX to.
This may or may not help you with your recent AVAX transaction.
However, it will work with any future transaction on this newly added network.
