Trezor at home. The whole purpose of a hardware wallet is to sign transactions (send coins) so if you aren’t going to use it, better off wiping it if you have the seed.

Definitely use a passphrase if you’re going to use a bank vault. One copy of your seed in the vault and one at home (in the event the bank misplaces it).

If your seed is fully offline, a passphrase with a good passphrase manager isn’t a terrible idea since yes you need both the seed and passphrase to access funds.

Hope that helps! If you’re interested in more seed security topics, check out /r/seedstorage

Trying to address the balance of security and safety. Too much security is just as dangerous as too little security.

since the device is kind of disposable, I leave it over my desk and the seed in a vault in multiple places. I use pin and passphrase. Pin on my head and passphrase on a password manager. All this because I’m far for being a target nobody knows I hold crypto for instance and I don’t hold that much lol.

Use a passphrase, that is the first thing, I really think Trezor should do a lot more around promoting passphrases personally.

If you’re going to deposit your Trezor, then maybe consider also looking into the ‚lock with microSD card‘ feature also, that way you’ll eliminate the evil made (*with technical expertise*) attack.

The most important thing is the seedphrase + passphrase, as long as you keep that secure via your chosen method, you’re good.

Don’t put your seed in a safe. Safes are for things that are physically valuable, and they’re the first thing a thief is going to try to find the keys for, break into, threaten you to open, or simply take with them if it can be carried. A seed is just information. You’re far more free to experiment with ways to hide it than you are with Grandma’s jewelry. It needs to go somewhere no one would even think to look, not somewhere that has a big target drawn on it. A thief should have to tear your house down to the studs and examine every bit of material in order to find your seed.

split seed phrase in 2, and in separate places, pin needs to be coded if it is near the trezor
