As long as you have your seed phrase, just let Suite do the firmware update. In the rare case that it fails, wipe it, reinstall the firmware, and recover with the seed.

Hi, if you did not see your balance after recovering your seed, you either recovered a wrong seed, or your funds are in a passphrase-protected wallet, thus you also need to type in a correct passphrase when accessing your wallet.
