Some users may be experiencing errors when trying to send out ERC-20 tokens from Ledger Live, however our team is aware of this and looking into potential causes.
In the meantime, you should be able to connect your Ledger to a compatible 3rd party Ether wallet (such as MetaMask or MyEtherWallet) and perform your ERC-20 transactions for the time being.
[Here](https://www.ledger.com/academy/security/the-safest-way-to-use-metamask) is some great documentation showing how to connect your Ledger device to MetaMask, step-by-step, for reference.
Ideally, you’ll open the ETH application on the physical Ledger device, create a MetaMask account, and then once you’ve done this, you should be able to go to the „accounts“ tab of MetaMask and create a new account, selecting „connect hardware wallet“. This hardware connected account should be secured by your Ledger device (it should also have a little „Ledger“ title next to the account name).
Another way to test if the account is connected to your Ledger is by trying to spend from it. If the MetaMask account requires you to manually confirm the transaction with the physical Ledger device, then you know it was created by/connected to your Ledger device. If the transaction does **not** prompt you to confirm with the Ledger device, then you know it’s just a hot-wallet account in MetaMask, not secured by the Ledger.
Importantly, make sure you have Ledger Live ***closed*** while you attempt this connection process to MetaMask. If you have Ledger Live or any other crypto application open, it may interfere with your Ledger connecting to MetaMask properly.
