Factory reset it
Recover wallet from seed
Make a hidden wallet
Add different coins
Send small test amounts to and from (maybe don’t use ETH cuz fees)

Play around with it while you don’t have funds on it.

Make a new seed, send a tiny amount to it (like a penny’s worth, or test coins) wipe it, recover it, see if your coins are still there. There is no anxiety or danger of losing anything this way, since you haven’t started putting real funds on it yet.

Try connecting it to Suite, to MetaMask, to whatever other wallets you might want to use. Then, uninstall those apps, reinstall, and try to get back to the same wallets.

Play with pin’s, passphrases.

I didn’t have any trouble following the resources on [Trezor.io](https://Trezor.io). I understand your desire for the most information and I think Trezor is your best bet. Always test with a small amount of coin for your own peace of mind. Learn about the passphrase option and double-check your seed words.

By following them your funds will be safe.

All Trezor devices are distributed without a firmware software, so you actually need to install it for your first use. If there is a firmware installed already, then that means that someone used this device before you.

The recovery seed is also generated during the initial setup, so there should be nothing to wipe.
