Ist Ellipal eine Münzfalle?

Ich habe meine kalte Wallet vor etwa einem Jahr und schickte meine Krypto von Coinbase, Binance, etc.

Nun, wenn ich versuche, Münzen zurück zu Coinbase zu senden, erhalte ich entweder eine Fehlermeldung, die mir sagt, dass die Gasgebühr zu niedrig ist, oder ich erhalte den Bildschirm, um den QR-Code auf meinem Cold Wallet zu scannen und es gibt mir eine Fehlermeldung, die mir sagt, es später noch einmal zu versuchen.

Seien Sie vorsichtig! Ich fange wirklich an zu glauben, dass Ellipal nur ein Betrug ist, um Ihre Münzen zu bekommen. Hat jemand schon einmal erfolgreich Münzen aus seiner Cold Wallet zurückgeschickt?

What coins you trying to sent out ? ERC 20 ? Then you will need ETH to pay for the Fees . 🤓 so if your ETH balances is low you would be able to sent out .

I had issues with my iPhone 14 pro not reading the QR codes at all. Either had to hold far away or tilt at at an angle. Bit when it finally scanned it went through ok. Moved my wallet to an older NON pro model and didn’t have any trouble. Had Ellipal for about 2 years now. (I only deal with Bitcoin too 🤷‍♂️) I’m sure your coins aren’t trapped, just keep experimenting with little bits until you get it. Good luck to ya and I’ll be following this post.

Even if its not working for you, you can recover your coins in any other wallet with your seed phrase… So no coins lost or trapped.

I did this and deleted my wallet and imported again. Now the Eth I was sending is not showing as I didn’t sign the transaction in my old wallet. Not sure if I can get it back

I’ve tried DOGE, ETH, BTC, and ADA.

With DOGE I get an error „Please try again later! (40100)“ when I scan the QR code.

For ETH it just scans the code, buzzes like it scanned but does not complete the transaction.

I just tried BTC again and it says that I have a pending transaction, so maybe that did go through but I received no confirmation so maybe it’s just processing very slowly. I’m going to wait a few hours and check all coins again.

24 hours later and no coins have moved. I just tried sending ADA again and the error I get is „insufficient gas fee“, but there’s no way to change the fee which is only .166236 ADA for the 500 coins I’m trying to move.

As far as the „firmware“ is concerned, the app is up to date and the cold wallet is a piece of hardware that isn’t connected to the internet, so there’s really no way to update the wallet itself to my knowledge.

(EDIT: I just found out the tutorial to update the firmware on the Ellipal site. I guess I’m off to the store to buy a new SD card.)

Part of the issue may be that I’m unable to fully log in to the app. It won’t recognize my email address and when I emailed Ellipal support a while back, I was told to just create a new account with my seed phrase. I did that but it still won’t let me log in. I can see my balances, but when I go to „my profile“ and then to the actual „log in/sign up“ screen it still doesn’t recognize my email, so am I already logged in?

Go with a open source wallet like keystone pro, Ellipal has no open source firmware which should be a big security concern.

I’ve also had an error but mainly for erc 20 tokens wouldn’t send. So just look up the error message and see what the most likely cause is. My bet is it would be firmware. But don’t worry your coins are safe, it just took me a while to update it because of work.

I haven’t had any issues with mine really. Ways seems to work how I need it to. I don’t mess with many shitters so I’m not totally sure how that works works. But I also believe that it IS OPEN SOURCE. I think someone said it wasn’t. I think they post on githib actually.

That’s ridiculous. I’ve used mine for 4 years mostly without issues but when one has occurred, support has taken care of it for me quickly. I have my private keys stored away anyway so there’s no „trap“ that they can possibly set to keep me from getting my coins off of the Ellipal. You need to have those keys available to you at all times put away safely. That’s the beautiful part of the Ellipal that not all hardwallets offer.

Also, make sure you have the native token of the network as a gas fee if you are sending out tokens.

You may not be scanning the QR code fast enough. If you wait to long it times out.
