Gast::Yes, all my ledger have the same recovery / seed phrase.
The cryptos are not stored in the ledgers, they are stored on the blockchain. The only thing stored in the ledger is your recovery seed phrase, i.e. your key.
This means that you can access all your cryptos with either ledger, if you have several ledgers with the same seed phrase.
As long as your seed phrase is safe, there is no need to create a new one. Having several seed phrase may in fact increase the chances of leaking one, if you are not careful with your OpSec.

Gast::i like having a backup device regardless of the situation – however it is wise to never put all of your eggs into one basket – so to speak.
ideally you can have a few different wallets if ur confident u can keep each of the unique and respective recovery phrases secure and sorted. u don’t want to mix these up.
also make sure u title ur accounts in ledger live according to which device u created it with – or else u will get a message saying ur attempting to an access an account with a diff recovery phrase than the one that created it.

Gast::To clarify, if you go this route, you will have 3-4 points of failure:
– The 1st ledger (potentially protected by PIN)
– The 2nd ledger (potentially protected by PIN)
– The seed phrase you wrote down (either the same or two separate ones)Any of these 3 that are comprised will yield in the same result (account takeover).
Think of your ledger as simply a „user friendly“ version of the seed phrase. Instead of having to type in 12/24 words, you simply get to put in an 8 digit pin.
So if you’re asking for the SAFEST option, it’s to reduce the points of failure. That is, have no devices floating around and ONLY your seed phrase (which can be re-initialized to any HD wallet (like a ledger, trezor, etc)). That said, this will also be the most cumbersome if you ever want to sell/move those coins. The most USER FRIENDLY option would be to have multiple ledgers in the different locations/cities that you frequent.
My opinion on your question is:
– I would only maintain one and test its security throughly. i.e. purchased directly from Ledger (not amazon), tested the seed phrase recovery prior to moving coins, updated firmware and software, attestation check, etc.
