      Was nun?

Bedeutet dies, dass Börsen wie Binance es europäischen Bürgern nicht mehr erlauben werden, Monero zu kaufen?

I don’t see how preventing citizens from buying Monero can be enforced. Sure, there can be mandates on Exchanges to stop trades. But beyond that, I don’t know how it gets enforced. For example, how would you enforce direct wallet to wallet (my ledger to your ledger) transactions? Maybe I’m not seeing the whole picture?

Governments just want to know where “their” money/assets are.

Just to be clear, it’s not only about Monero, it’s about all non custodial wallets, all crypto transactions to/from unknown addresses.

Looks like we are just going to have to make a “local bitcoins” for every crypto currency.

This is so far from being a law. It was just a committee vote and has years until it becomes a law if it ever does. The decisions making process in the EU is a long one and this is not, I repeat is not a law.

My realistic use for ledger is to keep everyone but the gov out of my business and robbing me. I say everyone “but the gov” because I accepted a long time ago, the moment things like plastic cards were created to the internet and mobile phones, all were final nails in the coffin on the pipe dream that anything I have or do can be kept private from the gov. Our lives are nothing but digital foot prints in everything we do in our life and that is just getting more and more fine tuned each day . So I shrug my shoulders at any ideology that has any expectation or belief that there is anything that escapes Big Brother.
The ledger serves its purpose well for the realistic protections I expect from it and use it for.
