Ich habe heute eine E-Mail mit dem Betreff „Welcome to the Ledger Community“ erhalten. Sie stammt von katie@ledger.com, und die E-Mail-Kopfzeilen sehen für mich alle legitim aus. Ich glaube nicht, dass es sich um eine Phishing-E-Mail handelt, und alle Links im Textkörper führen zu ledger.com-Seiten.

Am Ende der E-Mail steht: „Diese E-Mail wurde an Sie gesendet, weil Sie sich bei Ledger.com angemeldet oder ein Ledger-Produkt gekauft haben. – Das ist falsch, da ich keines von beidem getan habe.

Ich habe nie ein Produkt oder eine Dienstleistung von Ledger besessen oder benutzt, und ich habe mich ganz sicher nie bei ihrer Community angemeldet oder ihnen meine E-Mail-Adresse gegeben. Haben Sie eine Idee?

Edit: Da dies immer wieder auftaucht – es ist äußerst unwahrscheinlich, dass meine sehr einzigartige E-Mail-Adresse versehentlich falsch eingegeben wurde. Es ist möglich, dass ein bösartiger Akteur die Adresse durch ein Datenleck gefunden und beschlossen hat, sich für die Ledger-Community anzumelden, aber zu welchem Zweck, weiß ich nicht. Beide Szenarien können völlig ausgeschlossen werden, es sei denn, Ledger lässt die Benutzer ihre E-Mail-Adresse bei der Anmeldung nicht bestätigen – was bedeutet, dass jeder zu jeder Zeit die E-Mail-Adresse eines beliebigen Benutzers auf der Website eingeben kann und Ledger die Daten akzeptiert und mit dem Spamming beginnt, ohne Fragen zu stellen. Wenn das der Fall ist, ist das eine schreckliche Praxis für den Ruf und das Geschäft von Ledger, die IP-Adresse zu versenden, und das führt möglicherweise zu einem Verstoß gegen das CAN-SPAM-Gesetz.

I also just got one of these. My email is in the form of `mail@firstnamelastname.com` so very unlikely to be a typo. The email is also from katie@ledger.com and SPF and DMARC checks pass. The X-Campaign-ID header is 408011. All the links in the email body go to the ledger.com domain.

I have no affiliation with Ledger, I’ve never bought one, I’ve never been interested in one or the mailing list. Please figure out why we got these emails. I’m in Canada so CASL applies.

Seriously, there’s a „subscribe to our newsletter“ form literally on the first page of [ledger.com](https://ledger.com) and the first conclusion is that someone hacked their servers and added your email to their list, doesn’t that sound a bit weird?

Is there any chance that someone might have mistyped your email/someone you know used your email? You wouldn’t be getting these emails unless your email was entered on our site, or you bought a Ledger product.

My main concern is that Ledger and/or other crypto services or exchanges are doing some shady data sharing without my consent. Hoping the Ledger/mod team can speak to this.

If anything maybe create a new message and email Katie directly. If they can respond with some legitimate information then u can ask how she got your email. Dont use their provided links for anythi g. Maybe screenshot the email and then delete for good measure. U never know

So cringe. Putting everything else you said aside, which has plenty to pick apart, the cherry on the shit pie is invoking some useless American legislation when talking about a French company.

Do what everyone else does, when you get an email from a service you are not user of, don’t inspect it, don’t open it, just ignore it.

And for the love of God, don’t waste time trying to rile people up on reddit. That’s really going to do something, other than effectively whipping up some FUD.

katie is famous guy, so you can trust him, but don’t open any link related to ledger from your email address as there many phishing attacks going on.

Warning:

-Don’t enter your seed into anything except the Ledger device itself.

-Download / update ledger live software from official website only.

-Never use search engine to access ledger website.

-Ignore all messages in your inbox and mark them as spam.

-Never click links or install software from an e-mail.

-Never respond to someone request to download remote applications(Team viewer, anydesk and etc.)

-Always conduct a small amount test while sending or receiving your funds and verify that the correct wallet address was copied/pasted into address bracket.

-Verify your ledger live is authentic:
