Cold wallet is the way. Not your keys, not your coin. Nothing better than locking up that crypto in a hardware wallet. Do it, sooner than later.

Best time to have a cold wallet is yesterday.
      Seriously a must.

Just my 2 cents, a common reply I come across is „whenever the value you’re trying to store is more than the cost of the device“ I’m partial to this response. Though in reality it’s whenever the amount you have is an amount you don’t want to risk exposing to 3rd party risk.

For example, if you don’t want Robinhood to take your .0001 ETH, then get it to a Ledger. Using a hardware solution to secure your assets cuts any third party risk out of the equation, though it also means you have to understand the tech and new risks involved. Overall, I’d say the aggregate risk decreases, but a portion of it shifts from the third party to you. We’re always happy to help if you want to learn more about self custody!

My suggestion is start watching The Crypto Dad on YouTube. His streams are all about self custody, Ledger, how to use it etc. First learn about it, then buy one.

All my DOGE is stuck on Voyager right now…and I had planned to move it to my Ledger but never got around to it. Hopefully I get some of it back.

I pulled the trigger a month ago and boy am I glad I did will all this nonsense going on between Binance and FTX. You never know which exchange could be next. I can sleep soundly knowing my BTC is secure.

If you don’t own a hardware wallet, you have no business in the crypto space. Don’t believe me? Ask the folks who own FTT

Got a Ledger a few years back and think its the safer option. Despite how much crypto you have right now you can get used to using it.

I don’t know if there’s an alternative, but it’s a poorly made device if you ask me. The battery doesn’t charge and the company doesn’t care. It doesn’t easily connect to my phone, I don’t even have a computer so I’ll have to get one now I guess?

Get one. Now. Do not leave funds on exchanges (I.e. Robinhood). See what happened to FTX. Exchanges are to be used as on/off ramps only. Hold your fund in your ledger. Make sure your key is safely backed up.

With all of the exchanges that have gone belly up, a Ledger is the safest way to keep your funds

I say you need both, hot and cold wallet. Each has its applications and each has its learning curve.

Buy Bitcoin and store it on your ledger.

      Avoid all other cryptos.

U don’t have any crypto until you have a seed phrase. Long term storage it’s absolutely necessary to have an offline wallet. Otherwise you deserve to lose it

Whenever you get to an amount that you would be upset to lose.

Take FTX as the latest of many examples. Get it off a CEX. Spend 100 bucks and forget about it.

I’ve had one for about a couple of months. Unfortunately for me, I didn’t get around to learning how to use it before yesterday.

I want to send my Polygon Matic to my Nano X for staking on Metamask. Do I send my Polygon to my Etherium app, not my Polygon Matic app?
