Ich habe meinen Ledger Nano X jetzt seit ein paar Wochen und habe eine Reihe von Überweisungen getätigt und verstehe, wie er größtenteils funktioniert. Mir ist jedoch aufgefallen, dass ich anscheinend nur meine PIN benötige, um Transaktionen zu bestätigen.

Wann bräuchte ich eigentlich meine Seed-Phrase? Ist das nur etwas, das man am Anfang bekommt, und wenn ich jemals eine neue Cold Wallet bekomme, kann ich mit der Seed-Phrase auf meine Kryptowährung zugreifen?

The seed phrase is critical, this is your master private key. This is the only thing that is stored in your ledger.

You need your seed phrase if your ledger breaks, malfunctions, or gets lost or stolen, or just becomes obsolete/unsupported. In those cases, you would permanently lose access to all your cryptos if you don’t have your seed phrase.

And you need to protect well your backup of your seed phrase, because anyone who has your seed phrase can take all your cryptos (with no need to even use a ledger at all).

The answer to your question is yes. Listen very carefully. Keep your seed phrase safe. Never input it into any website on the internet or share it with anyone. Legitimate people will never ask you for your seed phrase for any reason other than to steal your crypto.There are tons of scam going around on reddit and twitter.

seed phrase is your access to your wallet, if you lose you cant access your wallet, the usb stick is a chip that allow you access your key in the blockchain under a physical safety system

Theoretically you may never need it… especially if you have multiple identical ledgers. I used to have 3 and the only id have probably ever lost access to all 3 would be an EMP attack but no matter how much of a Longshot you should always keep your seed offline in a safe place
