Hypothetische Frage. Was würde mit all Ihren Kryptowährungen passieren, wenn Sie in 10 oder 20 Jahren ein Ledger-Gerät mit einer Tonne Kryptowährungen finden, die Sie vergessen haben, und es nicht mehr funktioniert? Ja, Sie haben die Seed-Phrase und den Pin (nicht dass es wirklich wichtig wäre). Sind Sie im Grunde genommen aufgeschmissen?

The ledger just holds your keys offline.

Your assets are on chain on their respective networks. (Ethereum, Bitcoin etc)

Thousands of people are running the same code across the globe to keep the networks running.

So as long you have the keys and the networks are online you will access to your funds

The seed phrase works with any Bip 32 wallet software. You do not need a device.

That said…..only enter your seed phrase into a hot wallet in an emergency…..once your key hits the internet or a computer it’s compromised.

Seed phrase is all you need. Just enter it into “future wallet” and voila, there’s your crypto.

Your coins are on the blockchain. Use your seed phrase to derive your wallet addresses and private keys.

cryptocurrency is not in the ledger, it is on the chain, ledger only stores your private key, you can withdraw money without the ledger, just remember the private key and another wallet not necessarily the ledger

I recovered a wallet created from a ledger in a bluewallet app in my phone,

To summarize, of they go bankrupt, nothing happens.

I really hope people educate themselves and know what cold wallets actually do before jumping in under false assumptions

So could you for example get a Trezor and then input the same seed phrase from your ledger?

Whats stopping you from transferring your coins to another wallet once the news breaks?

      Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Ledger Support and I’d be happy to assist you with your request.

Your crypto assets are not stored inside the Ledger device nor the Ledger Live application. Rather, they are stored on the blockchain. Your Ledger hardware wallet just holds the private keys that provide access to your funds on the blockchain.

Your 24 words recovery phrase would be usable to regain access to your cryptocurrencies if Ledger would ever cease to exist. You can restore your entire balance on any BIP compatible hardware or software wallet.

These 24 words are what provides you with the ownership of your coins. You must never reveal them, and never lose them.
