Wählt man ein Wort aus der bip39-Liste, so dass man die Startphrase irgendwo aufgeschrieben hat, und wenn man das 25. Wort vergessen hat, kann man es erzwingen? Oder nehmen Sie ein Wort, das nicht in der bip39-Liste enthalten ist, und riskieren, dass Sie es nie erzwingen können? Das alles basiert darauf, dass Sie Ihr 25. Wort nicht aufschreiben.

You can choose anything as your 25th word. I personally just generate it like I would any other password and have it written down with my seed phrase. It would technically be hard to brute force your 25th word as long as you make it complex enough.

I don’t think i’ve ever personally heard of anyone using a seed phrase word as their 25th word. Most people seem to treat it like a password and then just remember/write down that „password“.

It is not supposed to be a word

which is why that nickname is deprecated

      Passphrase is correct.

Make it secure enough to stand on its own.

      No more than 48 bytes.

Yes can be selected from a word list, but then I would use the full 40+ characters, say six words.

AT RANDOM so Diceware is good.

Can be a shorter string if not from a wordlist.

Or use your password manager like LastPass, at least 20 characters if no numbers and „pronounceable“ selected.

As u/blaze1234 suggests, ignore Ledger’s advice and make it a pass-PHRASE instead of a pass-WORD. On all my HW wallets I use the BIP39 list and pick 6 words for my pass-PHRASE. Makes backup and memorization simpler. If you want random words (and you should) use dice to pick them, or just make a disposable seed-mnemonic to assemble them.

It seems pointless to pick an easy to bruteforce word for the additional passphrase, since that would really not be adding much security to your seed phrase at all.

Something only I can remember. I’d never write it down or store it with my 24 words. Sort of self defeating. If I had to write it down, I’d store it completely separate from my 24 words.

You have 100 characters why not use them

Use a complicated passphrase and back it up separately than your seed

      Wealth, fame, power.

Gold Roger the king of the pirates obtained this and everything else the

World had to offer. And his dying words drove countless souls to the seas.

“You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered

Together in one place. Now you just have to find it! ”

These words lured men to the grand line, pursuing dreams greater than they

Ever dared to imagine. This is the time known as the great pirate era.
