Hey u/Arnolds_lovechild, we appreciate this feedback.
Regarding this cycle of opening the Ethereum application (and then the application closing) – are you attempting these transactions via a 3rd party dApp, with your Ledger device connected?
If you’re attempting to use your Ledger device, connected to any 3rd party wallet (such as connecting to [MetaMask](https://www.ledger.com/academy/security/the-safest-way-to-use-metamask), and then using MetaMask to connect to another dApp, such as AAVE or Uniswap, for example), you’ll need to make sure that you have Ledger Live closed.
Ledger Live functions with your Ledger device in a similar way that 3rd party wallets interact with it – they all essentially want to connect with the Ledger device, and if there is more than 1 instance running at once, this can create errors.
Ideally, if you’re using your Ledger connected to MetaMask (or any other 3rd party wallet), you’ll want to keep the ETH application ***open*** on your physical Ledger device, however you’ll want to ***close*** Ledger Live. Having Ledger Live open in this situation would cause errors. For optimal connectivity, you want your Ledger to only be interacting with one wallet software interface at a time.
