There are a few minor differences between how Exodus and KeepKey talk to Shapeshift. The main difference is that KeepKey gets the data back from ShapeShift in a different format so that the device is able to process it more securely. The signed shapeshift response is send directly to the device to prevent man-in-the-middle attacks. I wouldn’t expect that this would have any impact noticeable to users, but I’ll do some experiments. If I find anything, I’ll let you know.

If you have a conversion that has taken a few days, definitely contact support (https://support.keepkey.com/support/tickets/new). We can help you track it down, and if necessary, contact ShapeShift on your behalf. If you send the transaction id for the outgoing transaction with your support request, we can start tracking it down right away. You can get the TXID by going to the transaction listing, click on ‚details‘ for the transaction. Send us the url of the blockcypher page that pops up in your browser.

As far as following the progress of the transaction: I experiment with popping up the shapeshift transaction tracking page screen in a window. I think that’s what Exodus does.
