no, there is no ledger admin looking at what you call „connections“. In fact you can connect your ledger to front-ends that are not made by ledger (e.g. Electrum, for BTC, or MetaMask, for ETH etc).
Moving the chips to another Nano PCB board seem VERY risky, ad there are different chips versions and board versions, probably not compatible with each other, so what you did is very likely to cause your chips to fry or reset (i.e. permanent access loss to all your assets). Just fixing the USB port would have been a much safer option here.
