Nach dem ganzen Ledger-Debakel habe ich kürzlich eine Trezor-Wallet gekauft. Ich war begeistert, auf eine Open-Source-Hardware-Wallet mit einem guten Ruf umzusteigen. Als ich meinen Trezor erhielt, war die Verpackung eindeutig beschädigt, und nicht nur eine kleine Delle oder zwei, sondern ein massiver Riss auf der Vorderseite der Verpackung.

Ich habe mich sofort nach dem Öffnen der Verpackung an den Support gewandt und alle Informationen und Fotos zur Verfügung gestellt. Sie antworteten mir, dass sie es nicht ersetzen werden und dass es, da das Sicherheitsband nicht beschädigt wurde und andere Sicherheitsmaßnahmen vorhanden sind, gut zu verwenden ist.

Bin ich verrückt, weil ich dieses Portemonnaie nicht benutzen will, nachdem es in diesem Zustand verpackt angekommen ist? Würden Sie diese Wallet für Ihre Krypto verwenden?

The beauty of open-source hardware/software is that you can verify everything. If the security label covering the port is still applied, and the casing shows no signs of being opened previously, you should be fine.

You’re protected by the boardloader, the bootloader and the firmware.

If malicious software is preinstalled on your device, you’ll know it’s been compromised, if not, you’ll verify the Trezor Suite binary and the Firmware update if you’re so inclined and install them both, from there, set up a passphrase for extra security and away you go.

I agree with everyone else. You’re fine it was just poor handling.

However, that security tape is meaningless. You can peel it off and use alcohol to remove the residuals then put a new sticker on. They really shouldn’t even include it because it’s just a false sense of security.

If you decide to keep it, you can pay attention to the initial software load. The device should be only have a boardloader and bootloader installed. There should be no firmware installed at all. When you plug it in, it should boot into bootloader mode without having to place it into bootloader mode. You can pull the version of the bootloader using the `TrezorCTL get-features` command. You may see it flash twice, just record the versions that land. This should be normal.

If your even more paranoid, you can do a low level manual reflash of your bootloader with an SD card.

Finally, once you set it up, enable `sd-protect`. Everyone who has a model-T should enable it.

Was the clear gray color seal on the device- where the cable connects to device tampered with/ pealed off at all ? For me that would be a red flag for concern.
