unless you’re copying and pasting your address from previous transactions (which is ok i guess, but be super careful of ‘dust attacks’), ledger will spit out a new bitcoin wallet address every time you go through the ‘receive’ process in ledger live. This is normal. You’ll have used a different address in the past no doubt, under the same account.

You might have to reset the cache in Ledger Live and it’ll show the correct balance.

There are a few things to take into account:

      – A crypto wallet can have multiple receiving addresses.
      – The balance that you see in a wallet is the sum of the crypto on all of your receiving addresses.
      – When you lookup an address on the blockchain, you see only the amount on that address. This total can be different than the total that you see in a wallet application (like Ledger Live).
      – In Ledger Live, you don’t see the totals of a specific address, but the totals of an account. An account can have multiple receiving addresses.
      – To see the same amount on a blockchain explorer (like blockstream.info), you will need to lookup every address (receiving AND change addresses) that your account holds – or else you will see a discrepancy.

So, your transaction shows 2 input addresses. This means that your Bitcoin account/wallet has had at least 2 receiving addresses with at least 1 transaction to each address. In this case, you will also have 2 output transactions: 1 for the amount that you have sent, 1 for the remainder (that is sent to your change address).

      An example:

      – Your wallet has 2 receiving addresses, with a transaction to each address.
      – Address 1 has received 0.25 BTC.
      – Address 2 has received 0.35 BTC.
      – Your balance is 0.6 BTC.

You want to send 0.4 BTC. This is what will happen:

      – None of your addresses has 0.4 BTC. (One has 0.25 BTC, the other 0.35 BTC.)
      – So, multiple addresses are needed as the input.
      – So, to get to 0.4 BTC, you need all the 0.25 BTC from address 1, and 0.15 BTC from the second address (that holds 0.35 BTC).
      – You have 0.35 BTC, you’re sending 0.15 BTC, so your change (what you need to get back) is 0.2 BTC.

      So, the input is:

      – 0.25 BTC + 0.35 BTC.
      – You get back 0.2 BTC.

In the end, your wallet has:

      – Address 1 (0.25 BTC) is empty.
      – Address 2 (0.35 BTC) is empty.
      – Address 3 (the hidden change address in your wallet) has 0.2 BTC.

      The receiving wallet has:

      – +0.4 BTC in the address that you sent to.

*→ (I am not exactly sure how Ledger Live (or another wallet application) selects the addresses to make the transaction from. Does it select the oldest addresses/transactions first? Does it select the addresses that will have the least fees? Not sure.*

It’s possible that the information in Ledger Live is not yet updated, but in any case, when you compare, make sure to compare the same things.

Some interfaces only showed confirmed UTXOs. Other interfaces show both confirmed and unconfirmed UTXOs. Perhaps that’s the difference.

Hey, This might be a sync error, could you please make sure your versions are up-to-date in the order mentioned here: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/8458939792669-How-to-perform-a-complete-update-of-your-Ledger-setup?docs=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/8458939792669-How-to-perform-a-complete-update-of-your-Ledger-setup?docs=true)

Then head to Ledger Live settings > help > and clear cache to refresh its block explorers

You can also cross check your Ledger BTC account with Ledger connected to electrum’s interface as explained here: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005161925-Set-up-and-use-Electrum?docs=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005161925-Set-up-and-use-Electrum?docs=true)
