      Vielen Dank

Yes, Safe. Just reset the ledger and generate a new random recovery/seed phrase.

Only overly paranoid people may disagree.

Reset device. Record new 24 word seed phrase and use it.

Depending on your level of concern, you *could* ever so cautiously and gingerly pry the device open with a thin, rigid tool and insure there’s not a piggyback EPROM riding within. Bootleg devices have been known to have them, which are obviously designed to steal your passphrase & crypto. Depends on your level of technical proficiency and confidence in performing the task, too, I suppose.

Don’t enter seed phrases on any pc /phone tablet internet connection. Just on the nano x

It’s good to go after a reset.

Makes me wonder if this person is really a friend though. The whole equation changes if there is doubt.

As long as you reset it, generate a new seed, and make sure it is authentic via Ledger Live when setting it up you are good to go

I guess if you’re going to put five hundred ravencoin on there not too much to worry about but if you’re going to put five hundred bitcoin I would spring for a new one . Just a thought . I believe you can reuse them heck even give used ones to friends and family I suppose , unless it has five hundred bitcoin on it

Generally speaking it is bad. You should never use already used devices.

It’s not only a matter of trusting your friend not doing sketchy things.

Your friend might be legit and he has no bad intentions but he himself might have bought it already compromised or for some reason device became compromised.

In my opinion if your are here for a long run, then it shouldn’t be much of a problem to spend a few hundred bucks and get device from official store.
