So habe ich mein Ledger nano x für ein paar Jahre jetzt gehabt. Ich habe es glücklicherweise gekauft, kurz nachdem alle Kundendaten durchgesickert waren, so dass meine Adresse, mein Name usw. nicht gefährdet waren.

Ich war wirklich sauer und wollte den Ledger zurückgeben, bin aber dabei geblieben. Bislang habe ich gute Erfahrungen gemacht und keine Beschwerden gehabt.

Aber dann wurde vor einiger Zeit die Funktion zur Wiederherstellung des Ledgers veröffentlicht. Mir ist klar, dass es sich dabei um einen Opt-in-Service handelt, aber es scheint, dass mit einem einfachen Update die Daten von Ihrem Gerät extrahiert werden können. Ist es nicht der Sinn und das Versprechen von Ledger, dass das Saatgut das Gerät nie verlässt?

Heißt das also, dass sie uns die ganze Zeit belogen haben? Und jetzt gibt es das Problem mit ledger dapps…

Ich mag, wie einfach es zu benutzen ist, aber es scheint, als ob Ledger einen Fehler nach dem anderen gemacht hat und sie uns belogen haben? Hoffentlich kann mir jemand sagen, dass ich falsch liege

It’s **incompetence** for the most part. Ledger should consider retiring themselves from the **security** **bussiness**. They’re **obiviously** not **cutt-**out for it. Leave it to the pros I say.

Don’t buy another ledger. Get a trezor, I’ve heard theyre actually simple to use. Or yknow, paper seeds

Your crypto is about is safe as your checking account is. If you think your money in a bank account is safe then you can blindly rest assured your crypto will be fine. Oh wait they can also freeze your account and take your funds at anytime though 🤔

Hey – The Ledger Recover feature is indeed an optional service and it’s designed to provide an additional layer of security for your Ledger Nano X. It’s important to note that even with this feature, your seed phrase never leaves your device without your explicit consent.

The Ledger Recover service only backs up your seed on your device in the event you lose your 24-word recovery phrase. This backup is encrypted and can only be accessed by you. It’s also worth mentioning that even if you update your Ledger device firmware, this will not automatically activate the Recover service.
