      RUN 🏃🏾‍♀️

Fees for transacting on the Bitcoin blockchain are indeed increasing due to high network activity – much of which is originating from BRC-20 tokens and Ordinal-based transactions. In this case, users will want to keep a close eye on their transactions and how much they’re paying in fees while using the Bitcoin blockchain.

Thankfully, as long as you have your 24 word recovery phrase safely stored, you can [restore](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404382560913-Restore-your-Ledger-accounts-with-your-recovery-phrase?support=true) your funds into any BIP39-compliant wallet and your funds will automatically generate (and you won’t have to pay fees for any “sending” or transacting).

Bitcoin doesn’t have gas or a gas fee.

the BTC are not trapped in their ledger, they are on the blockchain.

And this issue has nothing to do with ledger: the fees are the same when you are using a non-custodial wallet, whether is it a hardware or software wallet.

Hype will die down. Driving fee prices down these next couple of days. Lightning network integrations will become more mainstream and standard. BTC will pump, BTC will dominate. ☺️

I tried to move 40$ worth of BTC from Coinbase to my ledger and the fee was going to be 30$

Mempool count has actually lowered ~ 25% in the last 12 hours. Fees are down. Let’s hope it keeps up.

Moving from UTXOs you actually oen are zero risk. You can set the fee to 12 sat/vB then just sit back and wait. Much more of a problem when receiving rather than a problem sending.

It cost $2/transaction right now. Also why are you worried about other people’s financial decisions?

This is a great point and not enough people are talking about it. Don’t let them silence you.

It’s not Coinbase’s issue either. Previously it cost less than $1 to move BTC. It’s just the current congestion on the blockchain. Like everything else, this too shall pass.
