Ich habe gelesen, dass es der beste Weg ist, es von der Quelle zu bekommen und Amazon zu vermeiden.

Fragen:

– Wenn ich eine neue Wallet-Adresse für meine Hardware-Wallet erstellen möchte, gibt es dann nur eine Seed-Phrase, die mit jeder Einheit einer Hardware-Wallet verbunden ist?

– Sind die Wallet-Adressen, die die Hardware-Wallet generieren kann, vorher festgelegt? Wenn ich z. B. meinen Trezor auf die Werkseinstellungen zurücksetze, ist der von ihm erzeugte Seed dann schon vorher bekannt?

Ich dachte, dass jedes Mal, wenn man eine neue Wallet auf einer Hardware-Wallet erstellt, ein neuer Satz von Seed-Wörtern erzeugt wird, die noch nie zuvor generiert wurden. Wie kann ich also betrogen werden?

No. Once you get your seed phrase, you can wipe/erase the unit, and then it will generate a new seed unless you restore your virtual wallet from an existing seed.

No, and it should never be that way. If that were the case, Ledger could steal your funds.

The seed is generated by a ramdom number generator. I think it is a microchip, and it is subject to very high levels of testing by security experts. The Ledger Live software scans the hardware every time it it connected, so it should detect fake RNGs.

Each “wallet” has a seedphrase but a wallet can have several accounts of different coins. So, you can have several different addresses under the same seedphrase. Also, see 25th word. It creates a 2nd hidden wallet.

Great questions, while common advice in crypto communities is to only buy from Ledger’s website, we actually have a number of authorized retailers and an official Amazon store, all are perfectly safe.

The most important things are 1. To ensure that you generate a new recovery phrase on your device when setting up- this will happen on your device screen. Your device will not come with a PIN or recovery phrase that’s already been generated. And 2. That your device passes the genuineness check in Ledger Live. If you do these two things you’re good and your device is not compromised and you’re good to go!

Technically speaking, if a device comes with a pre-generated recovery phrase on a piece of paper- which suggests it has been intercepted by malicious actors- it’s totally safe to use so long as you reset the device, generate a new recovery phrase, and it passes the genuineness check. In practice this can feel sketchy though, so by all means open a ticket with Ledger support and we’ll work to set things straight.
