In einer völlig hypothetischen Situation, in der jemand BTC besitzt, einen Ledger und eine Seed-Phrase erhalten hat, Ledger Live heruntergeladen hat, aber keine dieser BTC verwendet hat (oder auch nur beabsichtigt, sie zu verwenden), müsste diese hypothetische Person dann routinemäßig Firmware-Updates erhalten? No you’ll only need to update the firmware if you’re trying to send the BTC from your Ledger wallet. If you are only sending into the wallet you don’t need to as you don’t even need the device at all to do so. And if a time comes where you need to send it out and still have your tinfoil hat on around Ledger, you can just recover the seed in a different wallet and send it from there. Doing so will compromise your seed but that’s your decision.

No, you don’t need to update the device if it isn’t in use.

Yes, you need to update the device BEFORE you do any bitcoin signing to ensure you have the latest security updates.

The catch is if some future (20-30 years) Ledger stops supporting your particular ledger hardware. Then when you dust it off 30 years in the future you may find it impossible to update to the last official version.

That MAY happen, but no one really can predict the future.
