Frage zur Sicherheit von trezor

Hallo zusammen, ich bin ein Hardware-Wallet-Noob, vielleicht ist das eine dumme Frage, ich weiß es nicht, ich versuche hier nur zu lernen.

Ich speichere meine btc auf dem Trezor Wallet. Mir ist klar, dass ich, wenn diese Firma in Konkurs geht oder ich meine physische Wallet verliere, eine andere Wallet kaufen kann, die dem BIP 32/39/44-Protokoll folgt, und solange ich mich an meine Seed-Phrase erinnere, kann ich wieder Zugang zu meinen btc erhalten. Ich wusste das, als ich meinen Trezor kaufte.

Die Sache ist die, ich schaue mir diese anderen Cold Storage Wallets an, die das BIP 32/39/44-Protokoll unterstützen, und es gibt etwa 6 von ihnen +\_+. (Es sei denn, es gibt mehr und ich bin blind?)

Die Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass alle 6 Unternehmen zur gleichen Zeit in Konkurs gehen, ist zwar sehr gering, aber es sind schon verrücktere Dinge passiert. Übersehe ich hier etwas, oder könnte ich unter diesen Umständen alles verlieren?

In the improbable event that every hardware wallet manufacturer goes out of business simultaneously, you are still OK so long as your seed phrase is safe.

BIP39 is an open, well-documented standard. When a new, trusted hardware wallet manufacturer emerges from the rubble with support for BIP39, simply restore your seed phrase to the new device.

If you had an emergency need to transact in the interim period, you could always use a software wallet — e.g. Electrum — which supports BIP39. (But I personally would not do that because 1. I don’t want to type my seed phrase **on any keyboard, ever**; and 2. I don’t trust holding my keys in hot wallets.)

Even if manufacturer goes down, the devices will continue to work, just no more updates. About buying more, I would just buy one of the same, in case I lose it. Or maybe a Trezor and a Ledger, thats all…

You could access your funds by importing to a phone or desktop app. Not as ideal as a hw wallet but you would still have access to your funds to move them elsewhere if need be.
