      Ich habe die Schlüssel für mein Trezor-Konto eingegeben, sie fragen nach einer Passphrase und ich habe sie einfach leer gelassen und die Eingabetaste gedrückt. Ist es zu spät für mich, zurückzugehen und eine echte Passphrase zu vergeben? Oder wird die Passphrase am Ende einfach eine neue Wallet mit denselben Schlüsseln sein? Und verwende ich Schlüssel und Passphrase richtig 😆?

      You can use a passphrase with your existing seed, but that will generate a new wallet. The old one will still exist. If you wanted, you could transfer the funds from your old wallet (w/o passphrase) to the new one you would create. You just need to copy the address of the new wallet, unplug your trezor and interact with the old wallet. Essentially both wallets would be yours one with passphrase, one without it. Using a passphrase is definitely recommended as its an additional layer of security. If you use a passphrase write it down and make sure you don’t make typo errors. If you forget it or enter it wrongly initially without noticing, you could loose your funds.

      Benefit is that the wallet without pass phrase can be used with wrench attack so keep a small amount there.

      Even if you just wrote any word, it would create a brand wallet based off that word. Be careful though, you can write any word then and it will create a wallet. You’re not going to get an error or anything like that, no matter what word you type. Once you have your new passphrase wallet you can transfer funds there.

      Seed words plus passphrase = seed.

      Seed = wallet.

      A different passphrase therefore means a different wallet.

      If you want to protect your existing funds with your passphrase you will have to move them to an address on the new wallet with an on-chain transaction, involving an on-chain transaction fee.
