Um BTC zu spenden, kann ich natürlich BTC an die öffentliche Adresse der Person senden, die sie erhält. Dies ist aus Sicht der Rückverfolgbarkeit wahrscheinlich der beste Weg.

Ich habe eine etwas andere Methode im Sinn, um BTC zu spenden. Es ist zu:

* Meinen Ledger-Schlüssel an die empfangende Partei weitergeben
* den Freischaltcode meines Ledger-Schlüssels zu verschenken
* Weitergabe der 24-Wort-Passphrase

Würde dies als rechtmäßige Spende betrachtet werden? Das Problem, das ich damit habe, ist, dass der Akt der Weitergabe eines Schlüssels und seiner Codes keinen Zeitstempel hat. Es ist also schwer zu beweisen (zum Beispiel gegenüber den Steuerbehörden), dass ich die Spende am Tag x gemacht habe, als BTC xzy wert war.

No, that’s not the right way.

And I would advise against it, because if the recipient doesn’t have his own noncustodial wallet, he probably won’t be able to handle the donation received.

Get a cold card and send sats there. If it’s really big $ and you’re worried about taxes… BTC isn’t legal tender, would IRS even consider it? Just write a check?

Your idea is not a good one because there’s nothing stopping you from keeping a copy of that 24 word seed phrase and take back your “donation.” So it’s very bad from a security standpoint. (Btw, the seed phrase is all anyone needs to take your crypto, the device and PIN are not necessary then)

Why wouldn’t you just send the funds on-chain like Satoshi intended?
