The address verification is just a safety feature, to check if the address on your screen matches the address on the Ledger’s screen. It doesn’t authorise anything.

You can reuse receiving addresses as much as you like.

Verification of the address is not the same as authenticating a payment.
You only verify the address to make sure that the address you enter for a withdrawal from an exchange or something is actually the one on the device and it’s not altered by malware on the PC/phone.
Receiving payments does not need any form of authentication and in fact can’t be stopped even if you wanted to.
