Hey, ich überlege, mir eine Trezor One zu kaufen, um einige USDC und vielleicht in Zukunft auch BTC zu speichern.

Ich habe gelesen, dass man im Falle eines Ausfalls der Trezor mit Hilfe des Recovery Seed (12-24 Wörter) wieder Zugang zu seiner Wallet bekommen kann. Aber es ist mir nicht klar, wie das funktioniert. Soweit ich weiß, speichert die Trezor-Hardware für jede Münze, die Sie verwenden (BTC/USDC/ETH/SOL/etc.), einen eigenen privaten Schlüssel.

Nehmen wir an, die Trezor-Server sind tot und ich möchte mit einer anderen Wallet und einem Recovery-Seed, den ich habe, wieder Zugriff auf meine Gelder erhalten. Die Fragen sind:

* Woher würde diese neue Geldbörse wissen, welche Münzen ich verwendet habe? Sind diese Daten irgendwo gespeichert?
* Wie könnte diese neue Geldbörse die privaten Schlüssel der Münzen wieder importieren? Sind sie nicht nur auf der Trezor-Hardware verschlüsselt gespeichert?

All you need is a seed phrase to recover. Just go through the normal recovery steps on any cold wallet and enter your seed phrase. Crypto as a whole is not at all tied down to one organization. All that a cold wallet like a trezor is, is a private key in which to access your crypto on any number of blockchains. Yes, using your seed phrase you can hop to different wallets that are out there. Be careful though, those other wallets may as well be scams that steal crypto if you input your seed phrase.

No, any and all coinage is stored in the blockchains where they are associated. All you are doing with any hardware wallet is referencing what is in the various blockchains. It’s encrypted sure, but only to your private key. All that the blockchains have is public keys, in other words a door only you can access.

What is a blockchain/network is, is just a public/global ledger of all transactions recorded and duplicated by computers all over the world. Comparing each ledger in the node to see if they match or not.

The internet comprises of public and private keys and public keys derivatives. Private keys can take many forms. For the crypto space, the private key is your seed phrase and a cold wallet like the trezor is just a window into your section of the various blockchains.

Your coins are not on the Trezor. Your coins are on the blockchain. The trezor guards your private key(s) used to move those coins on chain. There is no “Trezor server” holding your coins for you.
