Yes you can. Trezor will work fine up to 50 characters ledger has the ability to go to 100 characters

Edit: so I would limit it to 50 or less for some safety

Yes, it’s in the BIP Standard. Most wallets – hardware and software – support it.

Note that ledger live does not have to be used when using the ledger device. You could use many other front-ends that can safely connect to the ledger device.

Also, in case of emergency recovery (only), and knowing the risks involved, you could just enter your lefger 24 wirds and seed phrase in software wallets that support passphrase, e.g coinomi on andoid.

Yes passphrase and seedphrase are a BIP39 standard.

To quote that standard, because nobody looks it up and actually read it:

      > A user may decide to protect their mnemonic with a passphrase. If a passphrase is not present, an empty string “” is used instead.

I just wanted to share those two articles [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4983095135261-How-to-recover-your-passphrase-accounts-?support=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4983095135261-How-to-recover-your-passphrase-accounts-?support=true) and [https://www.ledger.com/academy/what-if-ledger-goes-out-of-business](https://www.ledger.com/academy/what-if-ledger-goes-out-of-business)

But yes, you can recover your funds due to the BIP39 standard

Any wallet that supports the BIP39 standard will work.

Another possible option would be to put in your seed phrase and passphrase into this https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ to get the private keys. Then import those private keys into eg Metamask or Electrum, and quickly transfer your crypto out to your new cold wallet etc.

Hi, just received my ledger X and am playing around with it trying to understand different functions. I have my pin and seed phrase (24 words) but I’ve not seen where I get a passphrase, appreciate any advice.

NOTE: I won’t be answering any DM’s and will report so I wouldn’t bother if I were you!
