You bought some Btc on an Exchange, and you are trying to move it to your Ledger, is that correct? Some Exchanges will ask you for the reason you are moving your Btc, so any messages from your Exchange are most likely valid.

you would be revoking permissions for smart contracts with sites like [https://revoke.cash/](https://revoke.cash/)

but that wouldn’t have to do with btc accounts cuz u wouldn’t be signing smart contracts for native btc.

u also don’t connect ur ledger to an exchange, u would buy on the exchange and send the funds to ur ledger accounts.

did u buy crypto in ledger live? if u did that would be diff than an exchange, not in ledger live

This is a Swiss non custodial exchange with no KYC (under a certain amount), it allows you to receive btc straight to your own wallet, but first they ask you to connect your ledger to their website and sign a transaction. Its called Mt Pelerin.

Hey, signing a message is a way to prove ownership of a specific address on a blockchain. Once a message is signed and published, it cannot be retracted. This is because the signature, along with your message and address, is broadcasted on the network. In your case, the Bitcoin network.

If you’re unsure about the safety of this process, it’s important to remember that signing a message does not expose your private keys or compromise the security of your funds. It simply proves that you control the private keys of the address.

As for reading the signature receipt, it’s usually a string of characters that represents the signed message. It’s not meant to be “read” in the traditional sense.

If you have any concerns about the process you’ve gone through, I recommend reaching out to the exchange for clarification. They should be able to provide more information about why they required a signed message and how they use this information.
