Der Austausch von Nano-Geräten, bei denen es möglich ist, die Schlüssel zu extrahieren (für die, die danach fragen), gegen neue Geräte, bei denen diese Extraktion nicht möglich ist, ist die einzige ernsthafte Sache, die Ledger an diesem Punkt tun muss.

In der Zwischenzeit oder alternativ, wenn Ledger sie nicht ersetzen will, muss es die Möglichkeit vorschlagen, zwischen den beiden Firmwares zu wählen, so dass diejenigen, die diese neue Wiederherstellungsfunktion wünschen, die eine herunterladen, und andere, die es vorziehen, dass das Passwort im Gerät verbleibt, wie es zum Zeitpunkt des Kaufs angekündigt wurde, die andere herunterladen. (Natürlich besteht immer noch die Möglichkeit, dass private Schlüssel extrahiert werden können, so dass die Ersetzung der beste Weg ist, aber zumindest wird das Risiko mit einer Firmware reduziert, die diese Möglichkeit nicht hat, wie viele andere Hard-Wallet-Produkte)

Ledger könnte in Zukunft zwei verschiedene Produktlinien anbieten, um seinen Kunden gegenüber klarer zu sein: eine, bei der die Wiederherstellung des Passworts unmöglich ist, und eine, bei der dies nicht der Fall ist (und auch nie sein wird). Daher wäre eine Implementierung dieser Wiederherstellungs-Firmware auch für die nano S-Linie eine schlechte Idee.

No you have to have “TRUST” in what they tell you if you don’t trust them just move on.

Even if they have two different versions you still have to trust that the one without actually doesn’t have a function that they can still back door.

Everything about this whole situation boils down to trust and if you’re going to go to another company that trust issue still applies.
