Yes they can spoof the send to address so that’s why ledger makes you confirm it’s the same on the device screen. Also they can do things like keystroke recording, so passwords and other things could be captured.

The beauty of Ledger’s Secure Element architecture is that even while using an infected computer, your Recovery Phrase is safe and the information displayed on your screen will be accurate.

We always insist that you verify all transaction data on your physical device, because even if your computer is infected with malware that changes transaction data on your screen, your device will always tell you what you’re actually signing.

Your recovery phrase is safe but you still need to be aware of phishing attempts. Also when ledger asks you to confirm the address on the screen, pls actually try to confirm it and don’t just blindly sign. Ledger can only do so much for you, the rest is up to you.
