When you make the hidden wallet get the receive address and then go to your standard wallet hit the send option and paste the receive address in and send the fund you’d like to move over to your hidden wallet.

It’s like transferring Bitcoin between two people. But this time the other people is yourself.

In the passphrase wallet, get an address, and transfer some funds to it.

The best advice is to transfer a little. Disconnect everything and try and get back into it. If you have manage to do this successfully you can then consider transferring the rest.

      you’re asking the wrong question.

passphrase won’t help protect your parents from phishing. Every phishing site worth its salt also has a “passphrase” field. In fact, I don’t think there is any sort of threat your parents are likely to face where a passphrase would protect them.

You know what you can do though?

**Store their seed for them.** If they don’t have it, they can’t give it out. That’s it and that’s all.

They don’t trust you enough, or you don’t trust yourself? Then make a 2-of-3 Shamir backup. Parents keep one share. A trusted friend that you don’t know keeps one. You keep one. Your parents still can’t give out the seed, and neither can you.

If you don’t like any of the options, train your parents to not fall for scams. It’s super helpful to think of it as a _skill to be learned_.

      There’s just three simple rules:

      1. **Never, ever, under any circumstances,** give your seed to anyone or anything. Don’t type it on a keyboard — even if there is an error. Don’t tell it to people, or take a picture — even if the friendly support agent really can’t help you without it. Don’t tell it to the police, unless you’re sitting in an actual police station, and then preferably only if your own lawyer, who you know from beforehand, is present.

      2. If it _looks like_ there is a really good reason to type the seed on a keyboard or tell it to someone, **call u/RealReluctantRaptor on the phone** first to confirm.

      3. If u/RealReluctantRaptor is calling you and asks for the seed — or, you know what, asks for any sort of money that they need right now, it’s an emergency, blah blah… **hang up** and call back. (gotta protect ourselves from the upcoming wave of deepfake distress calls, right?)

there. that’s it. no passphrase in sight, just people living in the moment.

make a training exercise out of it. call your parents the next day, pose as a support agent and try your hardest to convince them to give you the seed. sounds stupid but honestly, trying it out in practice can do wonders.

Just create the passphrase wallet, get your public (receive) address, go to your “standard” wallet and send to the public address for the passphrase wallet.

The BTC fees are also lower now so it’s a good time to do xfers.
