      Hallo Leute,

      Danke!

      > Do I have to download the app for each crypto?

No, each app is for a blockchain, or a family of blockchains.

i.e. all the tokens on a blockchain / network use the same app.

And all the EVM-compatible chains / networks (e.g. Ethereum, Polygon-Matic, Avax-C-chain, Fantom, BSC, Optimism, Arbitrum, etc) only need the Ethereum app.

How do you send bitcoin without an address? Your post doesn’t make sense.

With respect to [receiving](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404389453841-Receive-crypto-assets?docs=true) funds, when you initially add an account for a cryptocurrency, you’ll be prompted to install the application for the crypto as well.

As other users have mentioned, if the chain is EVM-compatible, you’ll just be using the ETH application for any transactions related to the chain in question (and you won’t need to necessarily install the application for the particular crypto – as long as it’s EVM-based).

Notably, if you are trying to receive funds to an account, your Ledger will prompt you to download the respective application *before* you’re able to confirm and add the account.

Once the account is added, you can select to “receive” funds to it and then verify that the address matches between your computer and the physical Ledger device’s screen. As long as the addresses match, then you know your Ledger is generating the address, and it’s safe to send funds to.

Yes, the Ledger has an “app” for each cryptocurrency. How did you send Bitcoin without having a receiving address generated from the Ledger? Where did you get the address to send the Bitcoin to?
