      Danke

Add/sync the accounts, and try to send a small amount. If you can, that account has no passphrase. If you can’t, read the error message.

if your pin is the one used to set up the ledger is all good… passphrase settings are either temporary or have a separate pin number

If you can access your Funds with a PIN, and you’re not certain if it is your Standard Wallet PIN or a Hidden Wallet PIN (Passphrase), then I would generate 24 new Seed Words on your other Nano X and move your funds there!

If you remember only one PIN, and you don’t know whether this PIN is associated to a passphrase or not, there is a way to determine that, if you have your 24-word recovery / seed phrase.

For example, you could enter your 24-word recovery / seed phrase in another ledger device, and check if both ledgers are in control of the same accounts. If this other ledger device is in control of your accounts, it means that you did NOT use a passphrase. If this other ledger device is NOT in control of your accounts, it means that you DID use a passphrase.

To check if a ledger is in control of an account, the simplest way is to connect the ledger to Ledger Live, go to the account in Ledger Live, and press the “Receive” button. If you can see the “receive” address on the ledger device, it means that the ledger is in control of the account. If you get an error (something like incorrect recovery phrase or passphrase in your ledger), if means that your ledger is NOT in control of the account.

Just connect your wallet to your ledger live and click on the receive button on any crypto if it isn’t a 25th word and just the 24 it will allow you to verify if not it will same wrong wallet

If I was you I would quickly move my Funds to another Ledger with new Seed Words. If you do in fact have a Hidden Wallet with a forgotten Passphrase you are playing with fire!

Hey there – Yes, a [passphrase](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005214529-How-to-set-up-a-passphrase?docs=true) is indeed an additional layer of security added on top of your 24-word recovery phrase. It essentially generates a completely separate set of accounts and addresses, providing an extra level of protection for your crypto assets.

If you have access to your accounts in Ledger Live now, there is one easy way to check if the accounts are protected by a passphrase or not. As mentioned by others in this thread, simply connect your Nano X to Ledger Live, enter your regular PIN code to unlock it, and proceed to verify each account by clicking on the “receive” button for any cryptocurrency.

When you attempt to validate the address to receive, Ledger Live sends a notification to your Nano X. If the account is secured by a passphrase that doesn’t match what’s on your connected Ledger Nano X, you’ll encounter an error outlined [here](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360025322153-Wrong-private-keys-for-account?support=true).

Successfully verifying the address on your Ledger Nano X display serves as confirmation that the account is only linked to your existing 24-word recovery phrase set up on the connected Ledger hardware wallet. So you will not need to worry about the possibility of the passphrase.

I hope this clears things up and helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!
