Also installierte ich Ledger Live, schloss meinen Ledger Nano S an, entsperrte ihn aaaaund…. zeigt nichts an.

      Irgendwelche Ideen?

      probably because of this bug:

      [www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/17wf9kc/bug_report_ledger_live_2711_cannot_add_discover/](http://www.reddit.com/r/ledgerwallet/comments/17wf9kc/bug_report_ledger_live_2711_cannot_add_discover/)

      https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/14868262436637–Resolving-ETH-Legacy-Account-Visibility-in-Ledger-Live-Desktop-2-71-1-

the bug will hopefully be fixed soon.

Until Ledger Live is fixed, you can access your old ETH account with metaMask, connected to your ledger. make sure to select the “legacy/MEW” derivation path when you connect MM to the ledger.

Note: NEVER enter your ledger seed in MM. Rather, use MM “connect hardware wallet” to connect to the ledger. This is the safe way to do it.

Or you could downgrade your Ledger Live to version 2.69, as this version will be able to find your old ETH accounts that use “legacy” derivation paths.

You should never enter your ledger seed online. That being said, electrum is a BTC wallet and not for Ethereum. You most likely have your eth in a legacy eth ledger address. Link the ledger with metamask and choose the legacy derivation path and you should see the coins.

There is only 1 truth and that is the blockchain. Plug your ETH address into Etherscan. If there is no balance, you have no balance.

      > but I’ve tried plugging my recovery phrase into Electrum

You mean you entered your ledger seed in Electrum? The correct safe way to to asl Electrum to connect to the ledger device.

This was really a bad idea. Your ledger seed is not potentially compromised and cannot be considered safe anymore. you essentially defeated the security offered by the ledger.

You should not use this seed anymore, and you should move ASAP all your funds to accounts that are not related to this ledger seed.

Also, Electrum only manages BTC, not ETH.

Hey, this is a bug on Ledger Live’s interface on desktop, you can access your Ledger ETH Legacy account on Ledger Live mobile or with Ledger connected to Metamask’s interface as explained here: [https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/14868262436637–Resolving-ETH-Legacy-Account-Visibility-in-Ledger-Live-Desktop-2-71-1-?support=true](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/14868262436637–Resolving-ETH-Legacy-Account-Visibility-in-Ledger-Live-Desktop-2-71-1-?support=true)

This issue will be solved soon as well as the team has fixed it, so wait for the next update!
Further, Electrum is a BTC wallet, that’s why you didn’t find your ETH accounts there, and please consider the 24 words at risk since you inserted them on a software wallet. I hope this better clarifies and remain available if needed!

Did you check your derivation path? I know Ledger used to have a different derivation for ETH in the past, check MyEtherwallet….

      > set it up as an existing device with my recovery phrase

just curious, why did you have to do that? Did the ledger device reset by itself?

First of all, Electrum is for BTC only. Not ETH, not anything else.

Second, never ever type your seed phrase anywhere but on your Ledger hardware wallet, unless you want to give free money to scammers and hackers.

Use Metamask to find your ETH. Use the connect hardware wallet feature – it should detect an ETH address with your ETH inside.

Plugging your seed phrase into Electrum???? What do you mean by this? Why would you enter your seed phrase anywhere???
