Gast::Why bother? There are literally more possible seed phrases than there are atoms in the universe. The principal danger to your seed phrase is from you exposing online it or by signing a malicious contract.
Just keep your phrase on paper or stamped on a metal plate in a secure place and rest easy.
And no – the world is not full of sophisticated thieves searching homes (or anywhere else) for seed phrases. Just take a look at the idiotic DMs you’re probably already getting.

Gast::With respect to your 24 word recovery phrase – this unique sequence of words is generated from the BIP39 mnemonic list (which can be found [here](https://www.blockplate.com/pages/bip-39-wordlist)). These words were carefully chosen by cryptographers to create a standard that would allow users to self custody their private keys in a feasible, yet secure and resilient manner (more info on this can be found [here](https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4415198323089-How-Ledger-device-generates-24-word-recovery-phrase?docs=true)).
Tricks like these sort of re-orderings can usually lead to users losing their own funds, due to variations of user-error.
I would personally advise making sure you store your 24 word recovery phrase in a safe and secure location, **on paper**, preferably on a piece of **metal** if possible (fireproof/waterproof).

Gast::Why complicate things and risk locking out yourself and loved ones (if something were to happen to you). Just keep your seed phrase secure.
If you really want more security, you could split it and store for example 2 copies of each half in 4 different lications. Once you know that one location has been compromised, you will have plenty of time to move your funds to another wallet.

Gast::I’d definitely advise against making such shenanigans with the seed.
What if you forget the secret to your pin? Accidents can also happen. Or even worse, death. Then nobody can recover the funds.
Keep the words as they are and keep them safe. This is much more important than planning for the seed to be found and compromised.

Gast::Again with this sub… folks trying to come up with ways to lock themselves out of their own assets.
The vast majority of people do not have any security issues while using the processes and tools that are already in place. Trying to complicate it more because you think you are going to „outsmart thieves“ will most likely lead to you outsmarting only yourself. And then, really, how smart are you for that?

Gast::Never make up your own scheme
Etched onto steel plates, stored in multiple secure locations far from home, secure passphrase separately from 24-word mnemonic.
Never digitise your Seed Recovery information, except to a hardware wallet or other dedicated airgapped device. Certainly never on anything capable of connecting to the internet.

Gast::This is a very bad idea and will almost certainly lead to user error. A lot can happen in a small amount of time.
If you get into an accident and you don’t remember any of this, you will likely never see those funds again – whereas perhaps a family member or friend could’ve helped otherwise (perhaps to pay bills in the case of some sort of emergency like a head-trauma accident).
Tldr; do not do this
