Ich habe ein Trezor Model T im Jahr 2019 gekauft, das nie geöffnet wurde. Ich glaube, es verwendet Flash-Speicher und hat keine interne Batterie, so dass die Chancen gut stehen, dass es auch 3 Jahre später noch gut funktioniert.

Gibt es außer der Aktualisierung der Firmware noch etwas anderes, worauf ich achten muss? Gibt es Risiken bei der Hardware oder Gründe, ein neueres Gerät zu kaufen?

Maybe start using it and getting comfortable with how Hardware Wallets work.
Side Question. What makes someone purchase a HW wallet and not use it for years? Genuinely curious.

Hi, there are no particular risks. Just plug it in and initialise the device via Trezor Suite app: https://suite.trezor.io/

It shouldn’t matter at all. The set up procedure(s) is key.

Do not digitize your seed words anywhere (no screenshots, typing them in word, notes, etc. and no photos of them. Be careful to manually write them down (in 2 copies) and store them separately yet safely. There are also steel/metal seed phrase kits to store your seed phrase that you can buy also. Though more time consuming, I believe you can enter your seed words from the device itself so no need to type them on your computer.

And please never ever reply to a DM. If anyone has anything legitimate to add or help with, they will do it publicly in this forum…not via DM

Just take your time. And if you don’t know how to do something, stop. And write to Trezors official customer support or post it here for help.

And never ever click on links sent to you. Nor do you ever have to put your seed phrases in after initially setting up your Trezor (unless you are restoring your wallet for some reason). So please never put your seed phrase in anywhere at anytime after your initial set-up
