They have been very open about this since 2018. They’ll add new coins (ada is supported already btw) when they get through their current engineering priorities. One of which was Suite. Yay! Now let them finish the others. Patience.

They already lost the war. The DeFi ship has sailed without Trezor. It’s a shame as its a quality product, much better than Ledger hardware, however with their politic it becomes a toy for maximalists 🙁

Hi, first of all thanks for the feedback. The ADA has been recently added to Trezor Suite, so feel free to check it out!

We won’t be adding new coins in a foreseeable future, as we have other projects with a higher priority at the moment. Also, our goal is to have the already supported coins in Trezor Suite first.

      >the list of coins supported by trezor suite is extremely limited. This is really unfortunately, because trezor suite is an otherwise awesome/beautiful app to use for managing coins.

You do realize the reason Trezor has a well developed app is precisely because coin support is limited right? Every second they don’t waste adding more coins is a second they can spend actually improving their main functionality.

If you split the time, workforce and budget between multiple projects, you have several mediocre products instead of one high quality product. That’s universally true for all industries. The only way to counteract this, is for the company engaging in multiple projects to charge more, but that is a consumer downside on it’s own.

The more time goes on, the more Trezor will outcompete every other company with a similarly priced hardware wallet, when it comes to quality.

Why in the world would you want them to change that? Go buy a competing product which favors quantity over quality.

Trezor doesn’t give two shits about new coin support. Unfortunately they’re marginalizing themselves through this decision. Crypto is bigger than just bitcoin and ether and ERC-20 tokens.

They pad their supported tokens list by including every trashy ERC-20 known to man to make it look impressive, just because those are extremely easy to support and require minimal resources.
