Hallo. Seitdem ich ein wenig Matic auf Polygon gesetzt habe (wirklich wenig), bekomme ich immer wieder unaufgeforderte NFTs an meinen Ledger geschickt. Für einen neuen Ledger-HW-Wallet-Benutzer ist das ziemlich beunruhigend. Wie stehlen die Betrüger eigentlich auf diese Weise von Ihnen? Muss man die gefälschte NFT mit dem Ledger signieren, damit sie auf den gesamten Inhalt der Wallet zugreifen können?

Wenn ich das Matic entsigniere, könnte ich dann verhindern, dass mir diese NFTs geschickt werden?

Seitdem das passiert ist, habe ich mich mit meinem Ethereum-Konto bei Lido angemeldet, um den Staking-Prozess für meinen Ledger zu überprüfen, und nach einer kurzen Sekunde auf der Lido-Website werde ich zu “verify.wallet connect.com” weitergeleitet, die leer ist. Ich bin seit diesen NFTs sehr paranoid geworden!

Just think about it for a second… What happens when somebody knows your home address in real life and sends you packages? Can you stop receiving them? No, they will be delivered to your address.

 

Transactions on the blockchain work the same. As long as a transaction gets confirmed, a sender can send to any address it wants – and each valid address will receive the crypto no questions asked.

 

How do scammers steal? Well, when you interact with the NFTs, you probably need to connect your wallet one way or another, you will probably need to sign something… That sounds weird right, but people are curious and some people will actually interact with stuff like this…

 

You cannot stop receiving crypto on an address. What you can do in Ledger Live is hide the NFTs, to make them invisible. When hidden, you can’t interact with them…

 

So, TL;DR: do not interact, hide them in Ledger Live.

As long as you dont interact with them you will be fine. You can hide them as well if its an eyesore

Thanks for that detailed reply. Might seem like a stupid question but how do you actually hide them from your LL transactions screen?

By the way I have had about 10 inbox messages about this. Amazing how many people work for ledger customer services isn’t it? Lol

Hey there! Receiving scam NFTs is actually very similar to receiving scam emails – as long as you don’t click on any of the links or follow any of the instructions, there’s little to worry about. The best thing to do is to hide them from your portfolio 👇

Your public address can be seen by anyone in the network. Meaning, anyone can send you anything on the blockchain, even scam NFTs. It is best to not interact with these 🙅‍♀️ you can right-click on the NFT and choose “Hide” to no longer see them. We hope this helps clarify.
