Not all wallet vendors run software with a built-in mechanism for exfiltrating your keys.

Ledger added that capability.

So, although nothing has changed with Trezor, Ledger is relatively less safe than it used to be.

Trezor is fine as long as you physically lose it. Need to treat it like your seed phrase that’s all.
